Safety Travel tips for Women

I am going on my first trip as an International Sales Rep. I can't wait!
When I was a little girl I dreamed of traveling. I was fascinated with the thought of  meeting new people, learning of different cultures, enjoying the beauty of earth. Now that it is all coming true I feel I am in one of those dreams from long ago!

However, I must confess I am a bit nervous. Specially after my dear husband sold me on watching the movie Zodiac last night. The excitement of traveling alone decreased a bit. So, I have spent the past hour looking for safety advice for women traveling alone. I've found pretty good ones so I will share a few. These have brought back the peace of mind, although, I am definitely signing up for self defense now!

Can't wait to tell you about my first trip and share pics....

Women traveling alone tips

Hotel:

1. Keep the "Do not disturb" sign on your door at all times to discourage intruders.
2. Always check all window and door locks
3. Use your luggage to keep the room door open when coming in to check closets.
4. Do not plug in appliacens in a foreign hotel without the proper power converter. The room very suddenly gets very dark. Know the power outlets and voltage for where you are traveling to.

Out:

1. Always carry your passport, plane ticket, traveler'checks and cash in a concealed money belt worn around the waist.
2. Check out your surroundings. Make sure to note emergency exits and have a plan in case you find yourself in a dangerous situation.
3. Don't be afraid you scream like crazy if you feel threatened.

Be Safe! Don't be paranoid but stay alert.

HaVe Fun :)
